Course Info

The Children’s Course is located in a beautiful setting nestled between the Clackamas and Willamette Rivers in Gladstone. It originally opened for play as Rivergreens Golf Course in 1961 as an 18-hole, par-3 course. In 1989, following the development of apartments on the perimeter, the course was redesigned into a 9-hole, par 3 course.

Duncan and Cindy Campbell purchased the property and opened The Children’s Course in 1996, with a mission of providing a safe space for kids and teens to learn and be empowered through the game of golf.

In 2000, The Children’s Course became home to First Tee – Greater Portland, allowing the facility to expand opportunities for youth to be empowered through the game of golf in an inclusive, welcoming space.

First Tee at The Children’s Course

A wide-variety of programs are offered at The Children’s Course year-round. Programs are led by a team of dedicated and trained coaches, some of whom have been a part of the First Tee since the very beginning in 2000.

From 8-week classes, seasonal camps, a Caddie Academy, a PGA JR League series, and a mentor program – there is something at The Children’s Course for everyone.

Visit the programs section of our website to learn more these opportunities. To see our available program offerings at The Children’s Course, check out our registration portal. Please note that all First Tee registrations occur via the First Tee Site.
